What is Anime? - the Visual Definiton is a major anime video project that I began working on in December ‘07 and finally posted online this month. To give an idea of what the project is, it basically consists of 1-hour and 40-minutes of various anime opening clips from 50 different anime series’. But instead of having the opening clips play one after another, in between each clip a page of information will come up showing the anime’s title, genre, and a brief synopsis of the story and plot. My main purpose in creating this project is to promote anime to people who do not understand anime’s appeal; in other words, I’m hoping that other anime fans like myself will use it to help spread the awareness of anime’s appeal to others.
My first post of 2008! I hope the new year is off to a good start for you all ^_^ 2007 has been a great year for anime both in Japan and the US so hopefully 2008 will be too. Unfortunately, although I’ll still watch as many new 2008 series’ as I can, I’ll have to put my sites back on hiatus soon once my classes start. But I should have time in the summer to do some site work and you can still check the About the Blogger page to see what anime I’m currently watching. But for most of the year there won’t be much activity here on the blog or the main site. Sorry about that, but I’m sure those of you who are or have been swamped with work and/or school know how it is =/ More details about my sites’ return to hiatus later, onto what’s new on Anime Yume…
Hey, it’s been a while. Yes, the blog is still technically on hiatus but I didn’t want Christmas to pass without me wishing my visitors a “Merry Christmas” and without doing some special post ^_^
I’m not really a huge fan of AMVs - I only like them when they’re exceptional, either really funny or really well made, and I don’t have any interest in watching mediocre AMVs. Over the years, through Anime Music Videos.org and brief viewings at cons, I’ve managed to find only a handful I thought were really worthy. But recently I’ve been in an “AMV mood” and felt like watching some of my favorites again and sharing them here on the blog (luckily they all seem to be available on YouTube too). So here are 6 of my all time favorite AMVs. Read on, and let me know if you think they’re as good as I do…
I finally got around to posting my coverage, photos, and video clips of my four-day stay at Anime Expo 2007. I wrote about everything I did at the con, things I liked about it and things I disliked about it. My photo/video collection isn’t as impressive as most but it’s something. Well, you can check out all my Anime Expo ‘07 stuff here. Let me know what you think! =)
I have to work tomorrow and Saturday but hopefully after that I’ll have time to catch up on my Inuyasha chapter reviews and other posts so check back soon!
I think the post’s title speaks for itself. Pika Pika Yukai! XD
Pikachu as Haruhi
Minun as Yuki
Plusle as Mikuru
And cameo by Itsuki
This is a good video considering it uses all original drawings and still flows with the song well. Whoever created it must’ve been dedicated to having their own unique Hare Hare Yukai parody video ^^
Wow, I can’t believe they’re still making new Inuyasha CDs! Actually this one came out in April, but still, it’s been over three years since the anime ended! 0_o And they’re still keeping all the old seiyuus together? Methinks that means there’s a good possibility for a new anime series in the works =) Maybe they’re just waiting until the manga finishes ~_^ Since Inuyasha has been losing its popularity over the past few years, I’m always on the lookout for new IY products to satisfy my obsession ^^ I heard about this CD a while ago…I just kinda forgot about it until a few weeks ago =P Better late than never I guess! Anyway, read on to see the track listings, my review, and brief synopsis of the CD, and also to download a RAR file of it…
First of all, before I get to the new media files, I’ve got to apologize for the lack of posts these past few weeks. Some of it’s due to my addiction to Pokemon Diamond, plus the usual stuff like school, work, preparing for university next semester, and trying to catch up on all the anime in my “To-Watch” folder. Also, strangely, I just haven’t been able to think of good things to blog about lately. And now with finals coming up, I really won’t have much free time. But I’ll have some days off in the summer so I’ll definitely use that time to works on posts and other things. Anyway, as for the new media files…
A little over a week ago, I had a small reunion with some of the people who were in the same Japanese extension program I attended last summer. We met up at Little Tokyo in downtown LA, went out to lunch, and shopped around the stores. It had been a while since I went to the good ‘ol Kinokuniya book store and Jungle Collectibles shop there (which is also where AnimeTV is frequently filmed), so I forgot about all the great anime goodies they have ^^ I’m trying to save up my money for Anime Expo, but I couldn’t resist this gorgeous Code Geass artbook I found…
Though it’s not my favorite of the nine (soon to be ten) Pokemon movies, movie 9 holds a special place in my heart because I was studying in Japan in July 2006 when the movie first came out. I was lucky enough to get to see it in a small theater in Kyoto a few days before I had to return to the US. The theater was very small compared to the ones out here in CA and there were a lot of loud kids there, but hey, it was a great experience to see an anime movie in a real Japanese theater ^^ The English version of the movie just premiered about a week ago on Cartoon Network. I didn’t bother to watch it though because 1) Pocketmonsters.net had just released a fansubbed version of the movie a little while before and 2) I dislike the new PUSA voice actors and it’s the first movie that’s using them. But after watching the fansubbed version of it (and understanding a lot more compared to watching the raw in the theater =P), it turned out to be one of the better Pokemon movies in my opinion. So I felt like writing a review of it (plus I can’t think of anything else to blog about tonight ^^,,,)
