Name that anime #2

I have little time for extensive blogging this week unfortunately – I have four long shifts at work and my three days off have been occupied with other things, mostly celebrating my birthday, which was on Wednesday. So once again I felt it was time to do a short post, another “name that anime” to follow up the first one from 4 months ago…

Name that anime

It’s been a hectic week for me due to increased work hours because of Thanksgiving, my seasonal allergies acting up and making me feel crappy, and trying to cram in last minute studying for the JLPT, which is this Sunday. So because of all this, I’m not up to my usual lengthy post today. Instead, I’m just gonna post a quick and (I hope) fun little activity – “Name that anime”…

A concise guide to Weiss Schwarz

Due to lack of time and brainpower for editorial blogging this week, I’m going to post about something I’m always looking to promote – the anime crossover card game I’ve been into for roughly the past year: Weiss Schwarz…

Madoka and Fate/Zero characters eating out together…why not?

I’ve been sick this week so unfortunately I’m not up to writing my usual lengthy editorial or review posts. But, not wanting to go over a week without blogging, I’m just going to do a laid back post today and share some funny anime and related pictures and videos that will hopefully brighten your day…

More anime lateral thinking puzzles

Two years ago I made a post of anime-themed lateral thinking puzzles, which are basically riddles that require you to use logic and put aside assumptions to solve. People seemed to like the original post (I enjoyed making them too), so today I felt like constructing some more anime lateral thinking puzzles…

Yumeka’s SoCal travels: Disneyland

Today I wanted to experiment with a different kind of post – one that involves taking a break from anime and blogging about one of the most popular overall blog topics: places traveled to. I’m not much of a traveler and haven’t been to many interesting places. But there are some I would like to share at some point, besides Japan and anime conventions, which I’ve already shared quite a bit of here on the blog. So what better way to start than with the “happiest place on Earth”…

Remembering Love: Haruhiism

This post is part of trzr23′s “Remembering Love” project, a project where bloggers rewatch their favorite anime during the month of May and post about why they love it each week. There’s supposed to be four posts in total, whether they choose just one anime to write about or several. However, due to my personal blogging preferences, I decided to dedicate just this one post for the project…

A farewell to Harry Potter (and will there ever be an anime?)

Credit to linked pixiv user

I wouldn’t call myself a Harry Potter fan, but I do enjoy the movies and have great respect for the books and overall series. With the release of the final movie, which I saw this past weekend in IMAX 3D, it seems like the franchise has now officially come to an end. With that, I feel like a bit of reflecting is in order, as well as wondering if a HP anime is ever possible…

Finally moving up to Blu-ray

This past Saturday I purchased my first Blu-ray player. I know Blu-ray has been around for a while now but I was a bit skeptical about getting into it. Firstly, I didn’t have enough money to even get my first HD TV until this past summer, but even then I suppose I was waiting for the price of Blu-rays to go down and for anime to start being released more steadily on BD here in the U.S. But now I feel the time is finally right for me to move up as far as my anime/movie viewing experience…
