About the Blogger

Nice to meet you, I’m known as Yumeka in the online community. Anime, and animated shows/movies in general, have been the love of my life for as long as I can remember, starting from when I was a kid watching cartoons in the 90s and then got into anime in the early 2000s. I graduated from college with a B.A. in East Asian Languages & Literature (country of emphasis is Japan) and I’m still continuing my study of Japanese through self-study. After going through a few not-so-good jobs after graduation, I’m currently back in school trying to get certificates in the IT field.

My favorite anime: Angel Beats!, Azumanga Daioh, Cardcaptor Sakura, Chi’s Sweet Home, Evangelion, Inuyasha, Kannagi, Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Naruto, Noir, One Piece, Pokemon, Wolf’s Rain

My favorite characters: Vash (Trigun), Asuka (Evangelion), Chopper (One Piece), Osaka and Sakaki (Azumanga Daioh), Shana (Shakugan no Shana), Nagi (Kannagi), Rock Lee, Gaara and Shikamaru (Naruto), Chi (Chi’s Sweet Home), Haruhi (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya), Mireille and Kirika (Noir), Yuri (Angel Beats!) Kagami (Lucky Star), Toboe (Wolf’s Rain)

Anime I’m watching/have watched: You can check my MyAnimeList.net profile to see all the anime I’m currently watching and the ones I’ve completed (I keep my MAL list constantly updated).

Other non-anime things I like:

Besides anime and Japan/Japanese, my other big interest is animals, particularly animal welfare. I have another section of my domain name called Animal Quotes, where I host a large collections of quotes and excerpts relating to animal advocacy. I also volunteer at my local animal shelter whenever I have the time.
