Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver review (part 2)

The second part of my review of Heart Gold and Soul Silver, the latest and very popular Pokemon games. My first review covered the basics about the game, as well as the first half of the story in the Johto region. This second review will cover the rest of the main story after that, as well as a few extra additions…

Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver review (part 1)

I’ve finally played through enough of my U.S. copy of Soul Silver to write a proper review. Since Heart Gold and Soul Silver are the longest Pokemon games thus far, I decided to split my review for them into two. The first one here will cover the first half of the game in the Johto region…

Five improvements for the next generation of Pokemon games

Tomorrow, Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver will be released in the U.S., the last games of the current 4th generation. The next games to come out later this year will mark the beginning of Pokemon’s 5th generation, with new pokemon and new features. As I eagerly anticipate getting my copy of Soul Silver tomorrow, I’ve been thinking about some improvements I’d like to see in the upcoming 5th generation…

How long will Pokemon overcome transience?

The other day it was announced that new additions to the main series of Pokemon games are slated for a late 2010 release. These new games will feature the long-awaited 5th generation of new pokemon. Being the big fan that I am, I was very pleased with the news, but it also got me thinking – how many more new pokemon will the games, or the franchise in general, be able to handle? New Pokemon Diamond & Pearl opening “Saikou Everyday!”

After 61 episodes, we finally have a new Pokemon opening that just aired with the latest episode, 158. And I wouldn’t make a post about it if it wasn’t one of the best Pokemon openings to come out in recent years – a catchy rock song and awesome images that showcase all the current star pokemon, important characters, as well as almost all the legendary pokemon. Although I prefer Rica Matsumoto’s singing, Fumie Akiyoshi has been steadily growing on me.

For the next Diamond & Pearl opening after this one, I believe a new remix of “Mezase Pokemon Master” is long overdue.

Nostalgic upload: English Pokemon CDs

Back in the day, I used to collect everything Pokemon, including the English music CDs that were released in 1999 through 2001. Recently, I grew nostalgic for these old songs and, realizing that it’s hard to come across the CDs nowadays, I decided to upload the 6 English Pokemon CDs that I have for your listening/nostalgic pleasure XD

Game review: Pokemon Platinum

Pokemon Platinum, the latest release in the line of Pokemon games and the third standard Pokemon RPG game on the Nintendo DS, following the incredibly successful Diamond and Pearl games. As with past generations of Pokemon games, once the new generation duo games are released, a third expansion version is made using the same basic story and gameplay but with a handful of new features. Platinum is the “extended version” of the Diamond and Pearl adventures, just like Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald were to their respective generations…
