This week has been unexpectedly busy for me, so today I’m just going to share something easy and fun…
I’m sure there’s isn’t anyone who likes Pokemon who never once wished that any or all of them were real. A while back I came across a contest for Photoshopped images made to look like real live pokemon (using real animals as models). You can see the full selection of 100+ entries on the site here (I’d say half are good, half are not so good). I’ve selected fifteen of my favorites to post below (with a picture of the actual pokemon to the left).

A fire bird flying over water XD (obviously the bird used is a heron)

I can’t see any other animal but a hedgehog (or echinda) being used for Shaymin

Lots of animals were used for Pikachu but I think this chinchilla looks the best

To be honest with you, I dont like the live action version of Pikachu…looks odd… :)
The rest looks fine.
If you look on the site, there are other Pikachu images using different animals. My second favorite after this one uses an actual rodent called a pika XD (perhaps Pikachu is based on one).
These are SO cool looking! pokemons looks so cool in real life~ I think Pikachu looks weird, kinda like a mouse and some of the bigger pokemon are so tiny lolol! xD

My sister said Cubone’s skull is in the shape of Charizard; I’m not sure if it’s true.
I might be a bit biased, but I think my favorite is Glameow followed by Arbok. Really nice job, whoever did Ivysaur. :)
The skull does look a bit like a Charizard’s, but according to the poke-dex information, Cubone wears the skull of its deceased mother =/
The Arbok one doesn’t look like it was very hard (just applying the right colors to an actual cobra). The Glameow one looks like it took some time though ;)

Ah! This is too cute/funny. I recognize some of those images, but since I’m not familiar with Pokemon, I didn’t make the connection. While I agree that Pikachu’s chinchilla representation doesn’t quite hold up, I still find it horrendously adorable, even more so since I love chinchillas.
On an odd note: are you watching AnoHana? There are a couple episodes that feature the main characters “catching Nokemon.” :p
