My 5 favorite anime of 2014

It’s once again time for me to look back on all the anime I watched this year and decide which 5 were my favorites. Some years it’s easy for me to pick, other years it’s not so easy. I actually didn’t watch quite as much anime in 2014 as I did in previous years due to being busy with work, school, and other hobbies, so it wasn’t too difficult to narrow down my favorites this time…

Fall ’14 anime reviews: Amagi Brilliant Park and Sword Art Online II

Fall 14 anime reviews

Only two series I was watching finished this season, so I can easily fit them into this one post (Well, technically I did finish Fate Stay Night UBW and Mushishi Zoku Shou 2, but the former I’m going to review when its second half finishes airing next year, and my opinion of the latter hasn’t changed since my past reviews of it). Froggykun on Fantastic Memes wrote a great post on this issue that inspired me to offer my opinion – why flawed anime are worthwhile and why we shouldn’t feel ashamed to like them…

What do you like in an anime couple?

In a post on the blog Shojo Corner, author starsamaria discusses what qualities the best anime and manga couples possess. Like many other things in the fandom, what makes an anime couple good to one fan could be quite the contrary to another, so it was interesting to read the points she brought up and think about my own criteria for a good anime couple. I’m sure there are some who care little about romance in anime, but I for one am quite the sucker for a good couple, whether it’s a big part of the overall story or not…
