Since 2008, I’ve been selecting my top 5 anime of that year and posting about them on the blog around New Year’s. This year however, I’m trying something new with Kiddtic’s AniBloggers Choice Anime Awards project. Instead of picking only five 2011 series, I’m picking twelve, as well as an overall series of the year and licensor of the year…
Time for another favorites list, and one that I’ve surprisingly never done before. Anime is full of cute animal mascots, whether they’re integral to their respective series’ plot or not. Even if they don’t serve a major purpose in the anime, they’re great for creating a simple, iconic image to associate with it, as well as opportunities for cute merchandise ;) So, out of the 300+ titles I’ve seen, what would be my top 10 favorites of these mascots?…
Original anime movies, “original” meaning their content isn’t based on an existing series, don’t seem to get as much attention or produce as big a fan following as other forms of anime among English-speaking fans. The obvious reason for original anime films being less spotlighted than anime TV series is simply because much fewer of them are produced, so there’s just a lot less of them in total. But wouldn’t having less make each one more valuable?…
It’s been close to two years since I made a list of my 50 favorite anime in January, 2010. Since then I’ve seen quite a few new series and my current tastes are a bit different. So I figured it’s time for me to update my list of favorite anime, seeing what new favorites I have and how my feelings for old favorites have changed…
Lately I’ve been thinking of making a new list of my top 10 anime characters, since the one I wrote two years ago is a bit outdated. Along those lines, I once again realized that, for whatever reason, at least 80% of my top 10 characters are female. This in turn got me thinking – how many of my other fellow fans have a preference for just one gender of characters, and can we provide reasons for our preference?

It’s to be expected that our favorite anime titles and characters change as we discover new series over the years. For those of us who have been into anime for at least a few years, we ourselves often change as people and thus our tastes in anime change too. So today I’m going to be looking back at my “former” favorite anime and characters – ones that I used to love during my early years of fandom (no later than 2004) and seeing how they compare to my current tastes…
While thinking back on all the anime series I was ever obsessed with, or in other words, all the anime I had ever considered my favorite at some point in time, they were all ongoing series. I know it’s natural for fans to obsess over new and popular series rather than old ones that have ended, but for the me the trend has been very consistent…
I recently noticed that I haven’t talked much about seiyuu on my blog even though they’re an important part of the anime industry. When it comes to people like singers and voice actors, I guess I’m the type of person who could love their work but not look into any further info about them other than that. I doubt I could even recognize any of my favorite seiyuu by looks, which makes me feel a bit ashamed (I think I’m just not good at distinguishing Asian faces 0_o) So today I’m going to focus this post on seiyuu and count down my top 10 favorites…
