MAY in Round 4 of the Aniblog Tourney

I was pleasantly surprised that Mainichi Anime Yume managed to pull off a victory in Round 3 of the Aniblog Tourney by only four votes. I want to thank all those who voted for me! My match in Round 4 is underway, so I hope you’ll continue to support me. Once again, if you’re unsure about voting for MAY or not, I’ll direct you to my original tourney post, “Mainchi Anime Yume in the Aniblog Tourney,” which explains more about the kind of blog MAY is.

If you’ve made your decision, go ahead and visit the polls here. Even if I win this Round, I don’t expect to stand a chance against some of the massively popular blogs in the tourney. But I would like to see how far I can get =)

Happy voting~!

MAY in Round 3 of the Aniblog Tourney

Mainichi Anime Yume’s match has once again come up in Round 3 of the Aniblog Tourney. For those of you already familiar with MAY and feel like voting for me in this match, go ahead and visit the poll here to cast your vote. And for those who are new to MAY and are deciding whether to vote for it, I’ll direct you to my previous post, “Mainchi Anime Yume in the Aniblog Tourney,” which explains what kind of blog MAY is and the kinds of posts I write.

I managed to pull off a victory in Round 2 by just one vote. However, I know the matches will get harder from here on and I don’t expect to get much further. My victory in Round 2 is enough for me, though it would be nice to see how far I can get. But please do visit the other great blogs in the tourney and vote for the one you like best.

Happy voting~!

Mainichi Anime Yume’s match has finally come up in Round 2 of the Aniblog Tourney. For those of you who haven’t heard of it, the tournament, which started last month, pits different anime blogs against each other and lets readers vote for their favorite.

If you’re new to Mainichi Anime Yume and are deciding whether to vote for it or not, I’ve created this post to offer an overview of the kind of blog it is and the posts that I write…

What the anime blogsphere has taught me

As I tally up the amount of hours a week I spend either writing my own blog posts or reading the posts of others, I sometimes feel that such immersion in the “anime blogshere” is perhaps not the best thing to revolve my daily schedule around – instead of spending so much time expressing and exchanging my thoughts online, I should go out into reality and experience real human contact rather than just online. Not only would it give my already terribly near-sighted eyes a break from the computer screen, I could also learn to better express myself verbally instead of just through typing all the time. But while it does have its downs, anime blogging has also helped me in a number of profound ways…

“When” do you blog?

Similar to a previous post of mine called “‘How’ do you watch anime?” I’m curious as to when fellow anime bloggers decide to blog, not just in terms of a specific schedule, but more importantly, things like whether they wait for inspiration from other sources, do they blog about any random thing that comes to mind or do they stick to a structure, do they have to be in a specific mood to blog, and other things of that nature…

I was wondering if I’m the only one who, from time to time, enjoys going back and reading my old blog posts, sometimes for hours at a time…

Mainichi Anime Yume’s 3rd year anniversary

I don’t know where my mind was a month ago but I had completely forgotten that Mainichi Anime Yume’s anniversary is October 1st. So yeah, here’s the month late post celebrating MAY’s 3rd year anniversary…

Remembering the old days of anime fan sites

Over the past few days I’ve been going through my 7+ year-old, but still active, anime fan site, Anime Yume, updating information pages and saving copies of important files. Going through sections of my old site made me reminiscent of the days before blogs, when anime fan sites flourished…
