For the past few days I’ve been working on uploading photos and videos, and writing coverage of the 3-week sightseeing trip to Japan I recently took. I finally finished everything today and posted it on the main site…
During my trip to Japan a few weeks ago, I spent most of my time with Japanese college students (between the ages of 18 and 23) who I stayed with at the dorms and who took us out during our sightseeing. I was curious how Japanese people my age would feel about an American female anime fan like me…
I got back from my 3-week stay in Japan a couple of days ago. To say the least, I had an awesome time but it’ll take me a while to gather all the photos and write complete coverage of my trip. So for now, I decided to simply share photos and info about the anime goodies I bought while I was there, particularly at the anime center of the world, Akihabara.
At 1:30 am tonight (technically tomorrow), I’ll be catching a nighttime flight to Japan and arriving in Osaka for a 3-week, all expenses paid cultural/travel program…
Well, I finally hit the big crossroad in life that most of us get to eventually; graduating college and figuring out what to do afterward…
Although this is technically not an actual game, for anyone who’s trying to learn Japanese and who doesn’t have $200+ to spend on a real electronic Japanese dictionary, this “Japanese dictionary on a DS cartridge” is a great substitute. Sure, it doesn’t have quite as much as a real electronic dictionary, but until you’ve gone past at least an advanced level of Japanese, this little DS cartridge will definitely be a major help…
For some time I’ve been puzzled about the difference between “fandom” in America and “fandom” in Japan, not just anime fandom but fandom in general. It seems to me that the Japanese place more emphasis on having people become totally immersed and supporting fans of anime and other entertainment, while America doesn’t really offer the same kind of hard-core immersion in its shows and movies. I’ll illustrate my points further in this post, and I’d also like to hear your opinion as well…
It was a pretty normal day for me this past Friday, until the above arrived in my mailbox ^^
While randomly searching around the Internet not too long ago, I stumbled across just that…Disney songs in Japanese. For someone who loves Japanese (and is also a veteran Disney fan), this was quite an interesting find (BTW, in Japan, Disney and all other forms of animation are considered “anime”. It’s only in America and other countries that “anime” refers to Japanese animation only ^^)
