Pokemon Battle Revolution tournament at Game Stop!

null
Yesterday I attended the Pokemon Battle Revolution tournament that was being held by Game Stop stores across the USA. It seemed a bit disorganized at first…apparently all Game Stops were supposed to be having it, but two of the three closest to me did not have it (for ridiculous reasons, like not being able to get the key to their Wiis). I attended the one in Canoga Park, California, located in the Topanga mall. Although I didn’t win, it was still fun. It’s been years since I went to a Pokemon tournament so it’s nice to see that there are still a lot of dedicated Poke-fans like me ^^

Game review: Pokemon Battle Revolution

Pokemon Battle Revolution
Pokemon Battle Revolution, the first Pokemon game for the Nintendo Wii and also the first ever Wii game that can communicate with the Nintendo DS. In addition, PBR also has online capabilities, allowing you to battle with people over the Internet like in Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. Although PBR is lacking some of the features that the old N64 and Game Cube games had, it has enough new features to make it a great buy for any Pokemon fan.

Nintendo DS Web Browser review

I recently picked up my copy of the DS’s latest accessory, the DS Web Browser. I’ve tried it out a few times already (though only with my Wi-fi USB connector at home) and I’ll say that it could certainly use improvements, but it’s a neat little device anyway and definitely a technological amazement.

Game review: Wii Play

If you enjoyed Nintendo’s complementary Wii game, Wii Sports, then Wii Play is the next best thing. You should still buy Wii Play anyway because it comes with a free Wii remote! ^^ But truthfully, I think it’s just as fun and clever as Wii Sports. Though the games are a bit less complex and less physically-involving than Wii Sports, Wii Play is still very addicting and makes great use of the Wii’s amazing wireless technology!

Game review: Pokemon Diamond & Pearl(US version)

I wrote a review of the Japanese version of D&P back in October though I hadn’t covered many of the new features. But now that I’ve been playing the US version and have gotten a lot further in the game, I figured now’s a good time to complete my review of these incredible new games ^.^ I’ve already discussed the games’ graphics, storyline, and some new features in my Pokemon Diamond & Pearl (J. version) review so I’m not gonna go over those things again in this review. Instead I’m gonna talk about some of the new features I haven’t yet mentioned, mostly about the games’ online Wi-fi capabilities ^^

Game review: Wario Ware – Smooth Moves

The Nintendo Wii game, Wario Ware – Smooth Moves, is a unique game that’s made up of over 200 microgames (smaller and quicker than minigames ^^) in which you use the Wii remote in different “poses” to mimic how you would do the games’ actions in real life. This game takes full advantage of the amazing flexibility, sensitivity, and wireless action of the Wii remote. Though the microgames are only a few seconds each (except for the boss stages), there’s an incredible amount and variety of them, and any Wii fan should find themselves addicted to this seemingly simple but fun game before they know it ^^

Game review: Pokemon Ranger

In the Nintendo DS game, Pokemon Ranger, rather than play as a pokemon trainer like in the other games, you play the part of a pokemon ranger. Taking advantage of the DS stylus and touch screen, you capture pokemon in a whole different way – by “looping” a number of circles around them, all the while trying to keep them from breaking out of the loop or damaging your capture styler with their attacks. Instead of raising and battling pokemon, the job of a pokemon ranger is to take temporary control of pokemon with the capture styler and use their abilities to help solve problems in different cities and environments.

Nintendo Wii: the revolutionary game system

I actually got my Wii a while ago, I just now finally decided to post about it. Yup, I was one of the lucky ones who didn’t have to wait on a long line in order to get one…I managed to get the last Wii at a local Game Stop. I wasn’t in the store five minutes before two other people came in and asked for one, so I was definitely in the right place at the right time! And since I had a couple of gift cards, I also got to knock $75 off the price too! Like all Nintendo products, it was fairly easy to assemble and figure out once I got it home. Unfortunately I haven’t had as much time as I would like to play it yet, but I have to say, it’s got to be the best video game system I’ve ever experienced…

Game review: Pokemon Diamond & Pearl(J. version)

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are the latest and highly anticipated Pokemon games for the Nintendo DS. Even long before they were officially released, they were one of the hottest and most talked about topics among Pokemon and video game fans. I’m sure even most anime fans have heard about the hype that these games have received as well. The games were officially released in Japan on Sept. 28th, and my copy of Pearl that I had preordered arrived on Oct. 4th(see scans I made above.) I’ve been playing it fervently ever since, but I finally decided to take a break from playing it and write a review of it instead =P Now, I’ve been a major Pokemon fan for nearly 8 years and I’ve played every generation of the games that have come out, so you’re probably going to think I’m biased when I say this, but Pokemon D&P totally rock.

Game review: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon

In the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance game Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, you take on the role of a human who’s been turned into a pokemon. While trying to unravel the mystery of how you were transformed, you partner up with another pokemon and form a pokemon rescue team. Along with your loyal partner and other pokemon you recruit, you journey through many long and dangerous dungeons, rescuing other pokemon, battling enemy pokemon, and trying to find items and information that will help you solve the mystery of why the pokemon world is currently being shaken by natural disasters, and more importantly, what role does your hero pokemon play in it all.
