Merry Christmas! (and a gift of good quality anime Xmas images)

Merry Xmas!

Hey, it’s been a while. Yes, the blog is still technically on hiatus but I didn’t want Christmas to pass without me wishing my visitors a “Merry Christmas” and without doing some special post ^_^

Manga & Anime Explosion course at UC Irvine

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about how, within the past few years, anime and manga have been making their way into the world of US education, with the rise of many anime and manga-related college courses, whether it be in the field of Japanese/East Asian Cultures, Film Study, Art, Literature, or even Philosophy. Anime and manga are finally starting to get recognition as viable areas of study in many different fields. Now that I’m about to continue my education at a university, I was looking around for any anime/manga related courses I could find. I wasn’t having much luck until I unknowingly stumbled upon an anime/manga extension course that looks really promising…

Pokemon Battle Revolution tournament at Game Stop!

null
Yesterday I attended the Pokemon Battle Revolution tournament that was being held by Game Stop stores across the USA. It seemed a bit disorganized at first…apparently all Game Stops were supposed to be having it, but two of the three closest to me did not have it (for ridiculous reasons, like not being able to get the key to their Wiis). I attended the one in Canoga Park, California, located in the Topanga mall. Although I didn’t win, it was still fun. It’s been years since I went to a Pokemon tournament so it’s nice to see that there are still a lot of dedicated Poke-fans like me ^^

Anime Expo ’07 coverage plus photos & videos!

Haruhi!
I finally got around to posting my coverage, photos, and video clips of my four-day stay at Anime Expo 2007. I wrote about everything I did at the con, things I liked about it and things I disliked about it. My photo/video collection isn’t as impressive as most but it’s something. Well, you can check out all my Anime Expo ’07 stuff here. Let me know what you think! =)

I have to work tomorrow and Saturday but hopefully after that I’ll have time to catch up on my Inuyasha chapter reviews and other posts so check back soon!

Off to AX! (find me there if you can ^^)

AX 07!
Well, tomorrow morning I’ll be up bright and early, carpooling with my friends to Anime Expo 2007! This is the first time I’ll be spending all four days at the con (and only my second time attending AX). It’s sure to be quite a memorable experience ^_^ I’ll be going with my friend and fellow anime blogger, pkjd from moetron. We’ll be attending the anticipated SOS Brigade Invasion Tour concert as well as lots of other great events. Also, The Anime Blog is hosting a gathering of anime bloggers from all over =) You can find details about the meeting here. Unfortunately the time overlaps with the SOS Brigade concert but I’ll see if I can make it last minute ^^

If you’re interested in trying to find me at AX, here’s a photo of me (I’ll probably be wearing that same kimono at some point at the con). If you find me, don’t be afraid to come over and say hi ^^ I always enjoy meeting visitors to my site and talking with other anime fans.

Obviously, since I’ll be away at AX from June 29th until July 2nd, I won’t be able to answer e-mail, write posts, or moderate comments during these 4 days. Sorry for any inconvenience. But I’ll be back soon with more posts and of course, in-depth AX coverage! XD

Plans for AX!

The Anime Expo 2007 web site finally posted lists and descriptions of all the events that are going on during each of the four days. So today I started planning my schedule, taking note of all the events that I want to attend. I’m going for the full four days at AX this year, along with my friend pkjd from moetron.

Happy Earth Day, from MAY! ^_^

Happy Earth Day, from Mainichi Anime Yume! I know Earth Day isn’t as big a day as, let’s say Thanksgiving or Easter, but me being a nature lover as well as an anime lover, I think it’s important ^.^ To me, everyday is Earth Day!

“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more.”
– George Gordon

Happy Valentine’s Day, from MAY! ^_^

(Renton and Eureka are so cute! ~^.^~)

Happy Valentine’s Day, from Mainichi Anime Yume! I don’t have a Valentine, LOL, so it’s just another day for me, but you gotta have some appreciation for The Day of Love, ne?

“Love – a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker.”
– Author Unknown

Happy New Year, from MAY! ^_^

Merry Christmas, from MAY! ^_^

To all my loyal visitors to Mainichi Anime Yume and AnimeYume.com, and to anyone else reading this, have a wonderful, white Christmas and a happy, healthy new year! ^.^ Like some people, I don’t care for the religion aspect of Christmas as I do for everything else; the lights, decorations, music, gifts, warm feeling, etc,. Despite many things keeping me from really having Christmas these past few years, such as lack of time and money, having pretty much no relatives to celebrate with, living where it doesn’t snow, etc., I still can’t help getting a warm and happy feeling when Christmas comes around. Though it’ll never be quite the same as when I was a kid, I don’t think there’ll be a time when my “inner child” doesn’t get at least a little excited on this day =) I once read a quote that sums it up good; “Christmas is not a date, it’s a state of mind.”

Anyway, it’s not much, but I do have a few Xmas-related anime things to offer you guys today…
