Off to Anime Expo ’12

Tomorrow morning I’ll be heading off to Anime Expo for my 4-day stay at North America’s biggest anime convention (today I’ll be stopping by just to get my badge). This will be my sixth time going to AX and I always try to make each time better than the last =D I have a lot of friends I’m planning to see and fun events I’m planning to attend, so it should be a good one. Fate/Zero season 2 review

I watched Fate/Zero without having seen Fate/Stay Night, which perhaps makes my impression of it somewhat unique. All that I said in my review of the first season still applies to season 2 as far as the diverse cast of characters, engrossing fantasy plot, and noticeably good animation. Your anime community

A carnival post from The Beautiful World brings up the interesting concept of anime communities. To me, such a community would be a place among a group of anime fans I enjoy being with, whether in person or online. There are all kinds of anime communities, the majority of which are online nowadays, as well as some fans who don’t have any desire for a community at all. Today I’d like to take a look at the different kinds of anime communities…

The importance of subtitle quality

A recent post by @fkeroge talked about how subtitle quality can vary between official subtitles and fansubs, with the official ones not always being the most accurate. But ultimately, the only way one can get the original experience of watching an anime how it was intended, is to learn Japanese and watch it raw. Obviously this isn’t an option for a lot of people, so I’d like to explore the topic of subtitle quality further…
