Funny fansub fails

I’m still in the midst of enjoying my 3-day weekend but I didn’t want to ignore the blog for too long. So here’s a fun and simple post this Memorial Day to memorialize some hilarious anime fansub fails…

Whether its Engrishy sentences, insistence on using too much Japanese terminology, or just plain weird choice of translations, fansubs can not only let us enjoy anime in our own language, but can provide a unique form of humor as well XD Here are some memorable examples:

Hope you liked them~ I’ll resume regular posting this Wed./Thurs. See you all then!

No Comments… read them or add your own.

  1. Myna says:

I was hoping you’d post the first Suzaku one! That gets me every time xD

I’m also a fan of the “Hey, what’s wrong?” one , enemy-san, and [whatever she just said.] Naisu jobbu, subbers!

  2. Edward says:

. . . and that is why I’m learning Japanese and watching raws.

But seriously, that is one of the funniest things I have ever seen, especially [whatever she just said] and “moo means moo” (really?!).

    • Yumeka says:

      Glad you like them~

The majority of fansubs I watch aren’t like this, but that could be because I know which groups are good and stay from ones I’m not familiar with ;)

  3. Chris says:

Bad subs are usually good for a laugh. I’ve watch a few fan subs that were fully of unintentional innuendo.

    • Yumeka says:

Yeah, troll subs can be good for a laugh, but it’s funnier when the subs are trying to be good and they’re not, like these examples XD

  4. kluxorious says:

 thanks for the laugh. The Rod gotta be my favorite though. This is awesome XD

  5. TRazor says:

    LOL!

I love these sorta posts. Try to post anime demotivational posters next time :D

  6. f0calizer says:

“Hey?! What’s wrong?” and “The enemy-san has left!” always crack me up.

  7. Kal says:

Haha! Sankiu! that’s so funny :) Pretty good ones there. There is always something lost in translation, but that just makes it funner.

  8. J.Paul says:

20,000 dollars a month? Dang, no wonder Hideki never has any money!

    • Yumeka says:

That one’s hilarious! From the look of the subs, I think it’s from one of the poor quality Hong Kong bootleg subs and they obviously failed to convert the yen into dollars =P

  9. Sebz says:

Most of April and March were failsubs. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, lol

  10. H says:

Wow… that’s really bad. Funny, but not very good. I would have the read the last post but i didn’t want to be spioled. (I plan on reading the series.) Oh, hey do you know why they weren’t out till this year?
    bye.
    –End–

  11. Inushinde says:

The cow and [Whatever she said] ones made me giggle. And I don’t ever giggle.
Kudos for making my evening more pleasant.

  12. Knee House says:

Awesome! These are hilarious. I wonder what inspires someone to add an emoticon sub for a visual medium . . .

  13. Tara says:

Fansub fails are so much fun >w< Thanks for sharing =D

  14. panda says:

i don’t get the gintama one..

  15. Mushyrulez says:

Did you just copy this off of Japanator? Cause if you got the pictures of them…

Heh, nice post nevertheless. Could’ve inserted the fansub’s name too – generally speaking, when in doubt, they’re probably trolling you and laughing to this day.

  16. Caddy C says:

    Ha! These are great!!

  17. Akasen says:

I can’t help but punch myself in an attempt to not laugh like a maniac. Or attempt to take this sentence into google translate and put it through Japanese and then back to English.

It is unprecedented and I think I would.
