Anime Expo 2010 begins today, but I won’t be heading out there until tomorrow morning to attend Day 2 and 3. I can’t afford all four days this year, but I’m glad I’m able to go to two. I’m very excited about AX ’10 because I haven’t been to any anime conventions since AX ’08.
My tentative schedule for my 2-day stay at AX is as follows:
Day 2, Friday the 2nd
1:30-3:30pm: Megumi Nakajima/May’n concert – I’m not much of a concert person, but the music in Macross Frontier is some of the most incredible I’ve heard in any anime (Megumi and May’n’s songs in other anime are nice, too).
4:30-5:30pm: Anime News Network panel – ANN’s former Shelf Life writer, Bamboo Dong, is an acquaintance of mine from college – I saw her at the panel in ’08 but I wonder she’ll be at this one.
6:30pm: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star cosplay gathering – I love taking photos of good cosplayers, plus my two favorite anime? How could I not attend this? XD
7:00-10:00pm: Anime Expo 2010 Anime/Manga Blogger Tweet-Up – If I don’t stay too long at the cosplay gathering, I’ll check out this tweet-up =)
Day 3, Saturday the 3rd
10:00-12:00pm: Toradora! US premiere and panel – Toradora! has been one of my most favorite recent anime. I can’t wait to see its reception here and how NIS America handles it.
rest of the afternoon: Exhibit Hall and Artist Alley shopping!
~4:00pm: Bloggers meet-up – Shinmaru has been organizing a meet-up for anime bloggers. I’ll be there, as well as some others like omo and zzeroparticle, so feel free to come if you’d like to meet us.
This is only my preliminary schedule of course, and I may add things once I get to the con. I like to avoid crazily crowded events like popular guest panels, the AMV Contest, etc., unless there’s someone/something I’m dying to see.
Anyway, I’ll be leaving early tomorrow morning and won’t be back until Saturday night. While I’m at AX, I won’t be able to answer e-mail or comments, so be patient =) I’ll definitely post my coverage and photos when I get back.
If I see you at the Toradora! panel, I’ll say hi! (And feel free to do the same if you see me, haha.)

The Tweetup went over quite well I feel. Was a lot of fun & mind expanding to share thoughts like that. I also enjoyed our little convos regarding trends as well. Will likely keep popping up here more often. T’was cool meeting you!
