Mainichi Anime Yume’s match has finally come up in Round 2 of the Aniblog Tourney. For those of you who haven’t heard of it, the tournament, which started last month, pits different anime blogs against each other and lets readers vote for their favorite.
If you’re new to Mainichi Anime Yume and are deciding whether to vote for it or not, I’ve created this post to offer an overview of the kind of blog it is and the posts that I write…
Mainichi Anime Yume is a non-episodic, single author blog run by me, Yumeka, that was first created in October 2006 as an extension of my anime fan site, AnimeYume.com (which I created in 2002). Since then, I’ve been spending most of my time writing posts here on the blog while leaving the main site open as a sort of “time capsule” to show how anime fan sites used to be (though I continue to work on it once in a while).
I write a variety of posts on MAY. The majority of posts are essays, ramblings, editorials, or analysis on general anime topics. I also write anime reviews, particularly when I finish watching seasonal series, as well as occasional video game reviews. Other posts include topics relating to Japan and Japanese (which I’m actively studying), my commentary on certain anime videos or pictures, lists of my favorites in certain anime categories (favorite character, series of the year, etc), news items once in a while, and other random topics. Though my main focus on MAY is essays and reviews, I basically post about whatever anime-related topic I feel like expressing.

I guess I mostly love your editorials on general anime and I was amazed on how consistent you can come up with new topic so often. Nevertheless, I voted for you because of the angry Chi o_O

Well, the matches are over and it looks like we both won. Congrats! I think you’re underestimating yourself – from what I’ve seen, you have a pretty good following of dedicated readers. I’m sure you’ll do fine in Round 3 and will have just as good a chance of winning as me.
I do have some dedicated readers, whom I consider the best followers one could ask for. However, I have an equal or even greater amount of dedicated haters, so we’ll see who pulls it out. I may still try and talk smack about you, haven’t really decided (truthfully, I don’t know if I can find anything to use as smack talk).
