Mainichi Anime Yume’s 3rd year anniversary

I don’t know where my mind was a month ago but I had completely forgotten that Mainichi Anime Yume’s anniversary is October 1st. So yeah, here’s the month late post celebrating MAY’s 3rd year anniversary…

It was three years (and a month) ago in 2006 when I finally decided to start working on a blog as an extension of my regular anime web site, Anime Yume. Now the blog is where I do the majority of my work, though my regular site is still open and I update it once in a while.

MAY isn’t a blog that has a specific focus; I just post about any anime-related topics I feel like, could be reviews, essays, news, media and image links, etc,. I intend to keep it going like that, though lately I’ve been running out of good ideas for essay topics and such. So recently I started listing my 100 favorite anime characters, and I plan to make more lists in the future.

Anyway, even though I had to put MAY on hiatus for many months during my two years at university, I’m glad I’ve been able to keep it going. And of course, I want to thank all my visitors and fellow bloggers!

A few fellow bloggers that I’d especially like to thank:

pkjd from moetron – I believe moetron was the first anime blog I ever visited, and I still frequent it. pkjd is a great friend of mine and one of just a few anime bloggers I’ve had the pleasure of becoming friends with in person. I’ve been following moetron since pkjd first conceived it a bunch of years ago. His dedication to providing the latest anime news and Vocaloid goodness is always amazing.

SailorCardKnight from The Animation Addict – SailorCardKnight has been a great help with a few things on Anime Yume, particularly its pretty image banners. She’s relatively new to the blogging community but we always have passionate discussions about anime.

2DT from 2-D Teleidoscope – another blogger whom I’ve had the privilege of getting to know in person. He says that meeting me in person helped inspire work on his blog, though already his blog is way outshining mine ^^,,, But he deserves it ’cause he provides some amazingly analytic posts and points out things in anime fandom that I would never think of. Nothing run-of-the-mill about 2-D Teleidoscope.

digital boy from Fuzakenna! – digital boy’s list of 100 favorite characters is what inspired me to make mine =D His other lists, as well as the staggering amount of anime he’s familiar with, is quite amazing. Fuzakenna! has a wide variety of fascinating anime posts.

Jan from Jan Suzukawa’s blog – Jan is a good friend of mine and an excellent writer. Her unique posts are always interesting reads.

VamptVo from Ani-Gamers – Ani-Gamers has been an affiliate of Anime Yume for many years and VamptVo has been a great help with promoting it. I’ve watched his site grow from a modest but well-kept fan site to a multi-staff blog that has well written articles and excellent insight into the U.S. anime industry.

John from AnimeNation’s blog – I’ve been reading John’s Q&A archive for many years, and although I disagree with him once in a while, his writing has been a big inspiration for many of my own thoughts about anime and topics of discussion on my blog. He posts great news items on AnimeNation’s blog as well.

And a big thank you to all my visitors, old and new, for your support over the past three years. I appreciate all your comments more than I can say ^_^
