Once again, due to lack of free time and my wanting to concentrate on other posts, I’ve fallen behind on the IY chapter reviews. I’m trying to catch up now and hopefully this’ll be the last time I’ll have to cover three chapters at a time and I can go back to doing one or two at a time.
As for these chapters, we’re still in the midst of the Magatsuhi arc and there’s no sign of it ending anytime soon. Personally, I think this is actually one of the better, more exciting of the recent arcs. As I stated in my last review, I originally thought this arc was gonna be another “power-up” story for Sesshoumaru since he lost the Meidou Zangetsuha, and that Magatsuhi was gonna be just another “monster-of-the-week.” But it turns out, there’s a lot more going on in this arc than that; Inuyasha’s group is as equally involved as Sesshoumaru’s group and we also have the other sub plots of Kohaku’s tainted shard and Kagome’s spiritual power being sealed by Magatsuhi. Being a part of the Shikon Jewel, the very item that all the conflict in the Inuyasha saga revolves around, also gives the impression that Magatsuhi will not be your average villain after all.
Another plus for this arc is that it features good character development for Sesshoumaru. Not only is it cool to see the return of his dog-youkai form, but a lot more of his caring side is revealed, for example, how he protected Kohaku and even helped guide Inuyasha’s group to safety. In chapter 517, Inuyasha also showed obvious concern when Sesshoumaru was seemingly trapped by Magatsuhi’s tentacles. When I think back to the times when the two brothers would engage in fights to the death whenever they saw each other, to how they are now, it’s pretty amazing how Takahashi-san has developed their relationship so gradually and precisely. I doubt they’ll ever have any “brotherly love” or flat out admit that they care about each other, but it’s still pretty interesting to think about how their relationship has changed over these 500+ chapters, and also how they’ve grown to be more caring and concerned for others.
Well, I guess that’s all I’ve got to say about these chapters and this arc so far. A lot of fans seem to think that Takahashi-san is going to kill off Sesshoumaru in this arc or sometime soon. I sure hope not but you never know. He is doing a lot of noble and slightly out-of-character things lately and isn’t that always when anime/manga characters die? ~_^ Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I feel like Naraku’s going to make an appearance soon too and I’m curious to see how Inuyasha and co. will finally defeat Magatsuhi =)
FYI: MakiMaki will no longer be making scanlations of the Inuyasha manga. So the only other sources I know of that release the new chapter each week are Freelance-Manga and ADInuyasha.

hey! i was just wondering, i heard that Inuyasha will be continuing to have episodes past 167 as of November 2007. do you know if that’s true? ’cause i heard about it, but i have my doubts. so if you know, do tell! :D thank you!
I have started watching Inuyasha when I started wathing bleach and full metal alchemist .*sigh* my duaghter is adicted to naruto all she talks about all day is naruto . my 3 month twins are keeping me up all night if it wasint for them I wouldint get to see these great animes. my duaghter is going to a gifted and talented class im so prod of her !. I hope that kagome and inuyasha make up I mean she said she liked him so much she even screamed it out in some episode I saw one day when I was adicted to all the other animes I talked about .that cat is actually a girl in bleach ! who knew and now shes teaching ichigo how to deafeat rukias brother I forgot his name.my husband is really a big help I get to take naps becuase hey a girl needs at least a 3 or4 hour brake for staying up that late.well write later thanks for reading .
Well I believe there will be more Inuyasha anime in the near future. I do think, however, that they want to complete or nearly complete the manga first before they create and release more episodes of the anime. Who knows? One more movie featuring the final showdown with Naraku and everything coming to a head for all characters and other storylines. Could be very exciting!
man i love inuyasha but his brother is like so hott man if he was reall and my man… i will do so much things with him with u know wat i mean same with inuyasha 2 but man he should become human for kagome but it been a long time sences i seen or read them for me its hard to get the books will i hope u right me back soon bye love u inuyasha and his brother!!(L)

More anime would be great. I find myself thinking im a dorky person when I watch this stuff, but its so addicting. If my friends found out, I’d be made fun of till my senior year lol.. so thats why there will be no manga for me =[. So the sooner a new movie or more episodes come out the better; Hopefully soon, but in the meantime I got Full Metal Alchemist and a few others with at least 150 episodes to curve my boredom. InuYasha is the best always, though.
I’m finally getting up to around here in the manga! =O can’t wait! Unfortuneatly, they never went past 167 in the actual anime =( but you can download every inuyasha episode right from the link in my site ^_^
