Volume 51, chapter 504 The Meidou’s Light, chapter 505 The Fox Inn

Another double review this time ’cause I’ve been busy, etc., you know the story =P But anyway, chapter 504 finally concludes the “Sesshoumaru vs Tenseiga vs Tessaiga” arc, though I’m still not sure if the entire conflict is completely over even though this arc is. But I am nearly positive we won’t be seeing anymore Inuyasha vs Sesshoumaru battles nor will Sesshoumaru be trying to steal Tessaiga anymore. He flat-out stated it no longer interests him and he seemed content to walk away without having a weapon anymore. Toutousai was right there, so he could’ve easily asked him to forge a new one, but he didn’t. I don’t doubt Sesshoumaru still seeks power (he still refused to take Tenseiga when it resorted back to a healing-only sword), but I think now he wants to find it on his own terms, without any connection to his father or Inuyasha. I think his turning point was when he left it up to Inuyasha to save them both from the Meidou. We all know that relying on someone else, especially Inuyasha, is the last thing Sesshoumaru would ever do, but he knew there was no other way. He saw that Inuyasha was able to wield the full Tessaiga+Tenseiga Mediou power-up skillfully and save them both, so I think it was then he finally decided to leave the sword with Inuyasha and seek his own strength somewhere else.

Though most of this arc was just fairly boring fight scenes, it did have its excitement and good points such as character development for Sesshoumaru, and hopefully the last power-up Tessaiga will ever get. But as I mentioned last chapter, Sesshoumaru now being weapon-less might turn out to be a perfect opportunity for another “new weapon/power-up” arc to come…though I hope not for a long time =P

And on that note, we have chapter 505. LOL, we all know Takahashi-san likes to have at least one comical, filler, non-plot-advancing chapter between long and serious story arcs, and that’s what this chapter’s all about. It did have its funny parts (Miroku’s “I approve of this inn” was perfect! ^^,,,) but as a whole, the silliness of the fox youkai youjutsu exam (sounds like something from Naruto! XD) was kind of exaggerated…it’s pretty obvious that we’ll never hear about the exam, ranks, and all the other info we’re given ever again, so this chapter’s pointlessness kind of overcame its comical value. It was still enjoyable enough but it’s definitely not one of Takahashi-san’s better filler chapters. To me it seemed to be on the same level as the anime filler episodes (though there are some anime fillers I think are a lot funnier than this one). But it was still a nice breather after the serious arc that just past. I’m sure next chapter will start something new…looking forward to it! ^^

Hmm…Inu Yasha sure has been going by pretty slow in the US, but its farther in Japan. That looks awsome though…..how do you make these websites….-_-

Fox inn was awesome. I love the filler arcs!
Be happy that it’s not a pointless fighting arc, and enjoy this Shippo one.
The ranks aren’t that major, actually they’re pretty basic. I don’t have a lot to talk about it, because it’s just a prologue to the next chapter, but yeah. Filler goodness.
